Customer groups

Customer groups (under Contacts → Customer groups) are pricing segments you assign to customers. They are not supplier groups — suppliers live under Inventory/Contacts separately.

Use them so wholesale, staff, or VIP customers get the right price when attached on the till.

When you create a group you choose how prices are calculated:

Calculation What it does
Percentage Applies the group’s Amount % against the item’s base (default) sell price. Branch default price lists are not applied unless the cashier explicitly picks a list.
Selling price group Uses the linked price list for that customer (same lists as Catalog → Selling price groups).
  1. Create lists under Catalog → Selling price groups (if you will link groups to lists).
  2. Set per-item list prices on the item (Pricing / group prices) or via Update prices.
  3. Open Contacts → Customer groups and add a group (percentage or linked list).
  4. On the customer record, set Customer group.
  5. Optionally set a branch default price list under POS store profiles — used when no customer group list applies and the cashier has not picked a list.
  1. Attach the customer to the sale.
  2. MerchMind resolves sell prices from the customer’s group (and any explicit price-list pick).
  3. Changing the till’s price list (when shown) can reprice open lines that were not manually overridden.

For full resolution order, see Selling price groups.
