Contacts
Contacts in the main sidebar is a convenience shell — customers and suppliers are still separate records (no single shared party table).

Customers
Section titled “Customers”- Phone is the usual loyalty identifier; customers must exist before loyalty attach/earn at the till (no auto-register on ordinary sales).
- Credit limit and pay terms live on the customer; outstanding due is calculated from completed due/partial sales.
- Assign a customer group for automatic pricing.
- Warranty sales can auto-register/update the customer at sale complete.
Suppliers
Section titled “Suppliers”- Business name, tax number, address, ISO country, pay terms (days/months), credit limit.
- Creating a purchase can stamp supplier pay terms onto the purchase due date.
- Blank supplier code allocates automatically (
SUP-####); use Generate to peek the next code. - Optional item tagging is a preference — purchases do not require tagged items.
- Delete archives (inactive) when the supplier has purchase/PO/return history.
Import
Section titled “Import”Use Import contacts with type = customer, supplier, or both (Excel template includes a Reference sheet and dropdowns). Phone is required for customers. Opening balances and custom fields are not in this import yet.
